For my Digital Artefact, I started a youtube series called ” Dare To Compare ” (D2C) alongside a corresponding word press blog where I analyse OG console games to their modern phone accessible counterparts. So far, I have been closely monitoring its engagement with possible viewers as it’s only just launched, but has been creating a steady following especially by consistent advocacy through twitter and other social medias.
My first video and blog in the “D2C” series has been a side by side comparison of the Mario Kart production through the years. In the blog, I compare first impressions, graphics, similarities, differences and flaws between the two generations and overall concluding which version i believe is better and why. The video is put in place to guide information as well as educate viewers with graphics.
With all research being conducted on public sites, there is an efficient feedback loop that engages feedback from a public audience. Not limited to comments, I have also promoted my series on personal accounts where viewers can even vote on certain decisions I can make about the future of the series.
This algorithm I have created proves to be successful as it is well organised, easy to navigate and thoroughly researched with first hand knowledge. I will be continuing this method of game media research across all games and will be making adjustments and improvements along the way to ensure I optimise every aspect of this analysation.
